The short version: Prosfora collects nothing, because it cannot. The Android app requests no INTERNET permission at all — that is enforced by the Android operating system, not just a promise we're making — so nothing you do in the app can ever be sent anywhere. Your prayer rule, streak, prayer-rope count, and calendar/jurisdiction preference are stored only in the app's private local storage on your own device. There is no account or login, no ads or advertising SDK, no analytics or crash-reporting SDK, and no real payment processing in the current release.
Prosfora is an Orthodox Christian daily-prayer companion for Android. It provides a customizable morning and evening prayer rule assembled from traditional texts, a fasting calendar aware of both the Old (Julian) and New (Revised Julian) calendars across several jurisdictions, saints of the day, guided preparation for confession and Holy Communion, a prayer-rope (komboskini) counter, and Psalms for the end of the day.
Nothing leaves your device. Prosfora's Android app is a single WebView shell around a bundled, fully offline web app, and its Android manifest requests exactly one permission: VIBRATE (the haptic tap on the prayer rope). It does not request the INTERNET permission, so Android itself blocks the app process from making any network connection at all — this is enforced by the operating system, not a setting we could quietly change later.
Everything the app remembers is written to the app's own private on-device storage (standard WebView local storage, sandboxed by Android so no other app can read it):
None of this is transmitted anywhere. There is no server in this app that could receive it.
We know this is the sensitive part. Which prayers you complete, your prayer streak, your prayer-rope count, and your chosen jurisdiction are, in effect, a record of your religious practice — treated as a special, sensitive category of personal data under laws like the EU/UK GDPR. All of it is generated and stored on your device only. None of it is transmitted to Synergy Software Solutions, to Google, or to anyone else — we have no server that could receive it even if we wanted one.
The current release's "Prosfora+" screen is informational only. Tapping "Begin 14 days free," or the scholarship link, sets a flag in your own local storage — no payment is collected, and Google Play Billing is not yet integrated, so there is no real transaction and no payment data anywhere in this app. If billing is added in a future release, it will go through Google Play's own billing system, which handles your payment details directly and never shares your card information with us, and this policy will be updated first, before that change takes effect.
Prosfora has no ads and no advertising SDK of any kind. No analytics or crash-reporting SDK (Firebase, Crashlytics, Google Analytics, or otherwise) is integrated into the app, and because the app has no INTERNET permission, none could report anything even if one were.
No one. Because nothing leaves your device, no third party — not an analytics vendor, not an ad network, not a cloud backend — ever receives any data from this app. Google Play, as the store you downloaded Prosfora from, separately collects standard account and download information under Google's own privacy policy; that is Google acting as the app store, not something Prosfora sends it.
Exactly as long as the app is installed and you choose to keep the data. Deleting the app, or using Settings → "Delete everything on this device," removes it completely — since it only ever existed on your device, there is nothing left anywhere else to delete.

Your data is kept in the app's own storage area, which Android isolates from every other app on your device. We do not add a separate encryption layer of our own on top of that storage in the current release, so the same protections that cover any of your other private, on-device app data — your device's own lock screen and disk encryption — apply here too.
Prosfora is listed for a general audience (13+) and is not directed at children under 13. There is no account, login, or data collection of any kind for any user, so no personal information is knowingly collected from children — or from anyone.
If we ever change how Prosfora handles data — for example, if a future version adds an optional feature that transmits anything off the device, such as cloud sync — we will update the effective date above before that change ships and describe plainly what changed.
